As we look ahead to 2021, it is apparent that in-person music festivals simply won’t be possible during this school year. While we look optimistically toward 2022, we recognize the impact that Covid-19 is having on music programs everywhere. We understand how important annual music festivals are in offering a motivating goal for students to work toward.
With that in mind, we are moving our festivals from the mountains to the cloud for Con Brio CloudFest 2021! Many wonderful ensembles from across Canada and the US have come to us over the last 20 years. Now it’s our turn to come to you. Con Brio CloudFest 2021 will feature all that you’ve come to expect from Con Brio Festivals: excellent organization, expert adjudication, a top technical team and a non-competitive festival.
We are offering two ways to participate: a LIVE interactive online experience OR submit a recording to receive your choice of live or recorded feedback.
Con Brio CloudFest will take place from Wednesday April 21 to Friday April 23 from 8am to 6pm Pacific daylight savings time. Our team will coordinate and facilitate hosting the adjudication, workshops and presentations. You will need a computer with a working camera and a decent quality external microphone to ensure your group sounds their best. Full technical details and options to enhance your students experience will be released in January.
There will be a single, one-time fee for each participating ensemble, which will be established once we determine the level of interest in participating. Our aim will be to keep costs as low as possible. Fees will not be due until February 19th 2021, by which time we should have a clear indication of our ability to proceed. Fees will be 100% refundable should your school or program experience unforeseen Covid-19 restrictions.
For now, we would like you to let us know if you would be interested in having your ensemble(s) participate in Con Brio CloudFest 2021.
